Coworking beyond Yerevan: Gyumri, Dilijan and the regions
Coworking in Armenia is no longer only a Yerevan story. Spaces have opened across the regions, and for a growing number of people they are the main place of work rather than a weekend experiment.
Gyumri
Armenia's second city has the strongest scene outside the capital, with a tech community that has been building for years. Desks cost noticeably less than in Kentron, and the city is close enough for a day trip if the rest of your team is in Yerevan.
Dilijan
Forest, quiet and clean air, an hour and a half from the capital. It suits deep work and small team retreats better than a daily commute, and several spaces there are built around short stays rather than monthly members.
Vanadzor and the rest
Vanadzor, Ijevan, Goris and Kapan all have workspaces now, most of them small and community-run. They tend to be cheaper, quieter and more social than their size suggests: in a ten-desk space you know everyone within a week.
What to check before you go
Internet first - ask for the actual speed, not the adjective. Then heating in winter, which is the single biggest difference between a comfortable regional space and an uncomfortable one. And whether there is anywhere to take a call.
Why people are going
Lower costs are the obvious reason, but not the one people give first. Shorter commutes, being near family and quiet come up more often. Remote work made location optional; the regions made it attractive.
